The Town of Chesapeake City received funding from the Department of Housing and Community Development’s (DHCD) Maryland Façade Improvement Program (MFIP) this year. This is a different source from previous years, which was through the DHCD’s Community Legacy Program (CL). This means that the 2026 Chesapeake City Façade Program will be available only to Commercial Properties in the Town.
We received $50,000.00 in funding and will award 4 grants of $12,500.00.
Applications are now available to commercial property owners for the Façade Improvement Grant. Applications are available at Town Hall, 108 Bohemia Avenue, or may be downloaded below.
The Façade Improvement Program supports exterior facade projects for commercial properties to recover and promote the integrity of the buildings and improve the visual characteristics of the community.
Please refer to the Facade Grant Application for additional information and guidelines. Applications must be submitted to the Town on or before May 1, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
